Health and safety training can cover many specific and generic topics. We have a different approach to delivering training courses as we ensure we reserach your business and tailor the courses so they are relevant and interesting to the people attending.

IOSH Managing Safely

The course is designed as an introduction to effectively managing safety and health in the workplace. The Managing Safely programme concentrates on training the manager or supervisor to apply sound management principles to safety and health issues as part of a total risk management strategy.

The course is ideal for supervisors and managers who are required to manage efficiently and effectively in compliance with both their organisation's safety policy and safety and health legislation

The course can be delivered over three, four or five days and offers health and safety management basics. The high quality animated graphics and presentation materials make it fun and engaging. CIEH Level 2 H&S

This course is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) and successful candidates will receive a nationally recognised qualification. It will benefit any employee but especially those with key roles and responsibilities as it provides candidates with an understanding of health and safety that will enable them to contribute to any risk assessment based health and safety management system.

Risk Assessment

The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 require every employer and self-employed person to make a suitable and sufficient assessment of the health and safety risks to employees and others not in their employment to which their undertakings give rise, in order to put in place appropriate control measures.

The risk assessment course will enable your business to comply with the legal requirement to carry our 'suitable and sufficient' assessments of the risk related to activities. The course covers:

• An introduction to risk assessment
• Legal requirements
• Hazards
• Risks
• Objectives of risk assessments
• The five stages of risk assessment
• Practical exercises.

There is no formal assessment, but delegates must successfully complete the entire course, including the practical exercise to receive a certificate of training.

Fire Safety Risk Assessment / Awareness

This course will benefit anyone in a work environment as it provides candidates with an understanding of the key principles of fire safety including measures to prevent fires occurring and actions to take if a fire does break out. Provision of this course will ensure compliance with the requirement to provide employees with 'suitable and sufficient training'as laid down in the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety)Order 2005.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

Appropriate either for employees with no specific fire safety role, or as an introduction to those who intend to take on further training as fire wardens or fire safety officers.

AIMS 

To offer delegates an introduction to fire safety and what to do in event of emergency, including:-

• Causes and effects of fire;
• Roles and responsibilities;
• Fire safety procedures;
• Key elements of effective fire risk management;
• Fire triangle - and how to control sources of fire;

Manual Handling

The Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 require employers to ensure that all employees are trained and competent in manual handling.

This Manual Handling Training Course provides the necessary information and training for organisations to understand more about the risks associated with manual handling, how to undergo a risk assessment and how to ensure appropriate control measures are put in place.WHO

SHOULD ATTEND?

Managers and Supervisors, who under the law, are responsible for ensuring manual handling risks are assessed and controlled, also employees who may be at risk and need to adopt safe working practice.

AIMS

To enable delegates to understand:-

• The potential for injury to arise due to manual handling;
• The legal requirements relating to manual handling operatives;
• The factors which affect the degree of risk;
• The need for effective control measures;
• How to adopt the safest possible lifting technique.

Asbestos Awareness Training

This Asbestos Safety Awareness course is aimed at those who may be required to identify, manage or work with asbestos. The course will cover:

• The properties of asbestos and its effects on health, including the increased risk of developing lung cancer for asbestos workers who smoke
• The types, uses and likely occurrence of asbestos and asbestos materials in buildings and
• The general procedures to deal with an emergency, e.g. an uncontrolled release of asbestos dust into the workplace
• How to avoid the risk of exposure to asbestos.

This course content satisfies the objectives as stipulated in Regulation 10 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 and the supporting Approved Code of Practice.

Work at Height Training

Working at height training course that will enable delegates to assess the risks associated with working at height and identify control measures required, thus enabling full compliance with the law.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

Managers and Supervisors, who under the law are responsible for assessing and controlling the risks arising from working at height, also employees who work at height in order to help them identify and control risks.  The course is also suitable for those employees who may be affected by working at height, i.e. those underneath.

AIMS

To enable delegates to understand:-

• The potential for injury arising due to falls from height;
• Legal requirements relating to working at height;
• Factors which effect the degree of risk;
• The need for effective control measures.
